To many, the word “autumn” might bring to mind colorful leaves, trick-or-treating, and pumpkin carving. Students and parents of Providence Academy have one more thing to look forward to in this crisp season: the Fall Fun Fair. Selling over 13,600 tickets this year with crowd-pleasers like Grab Bag and Cake Walk, this year’s fair was a roaring success.
Packing three full gymnasiums full of attention-grabbing activities, the Fair had numerous activities for everyone, as it has in years past. In every direction there are medieval-themed bouncy castles, face paint, and minute-to-win-it games, such as plinko and ring toss, that are sure to reward winners with candy. There is such a wide assortment of stations that people attending could experience everything from a raffle for a 52 inch teddy bear to getting their hair painted in the school’s blue and gold to a virtual reality headset, back for the second year in a row.
And the kids love them. Third grader Henry Hilberg decidedly announced his “favorite part of the Fall Fun Fair was the raffle”, along with the bouncy castles and “free” food.

But the numerous activities and sugary candy aren’t the reasons people are drawn to this event year after year. From lower schoolers to upper schoolers, Netters and adults, everyone has a chance to be involved in either volunteering at a station, donating a prize, or participating the the games.
Regardless of how participants spend their time, the Fall Fun Fair brings people together in a special way. Mrs. Reopelle, a fifth grade teacher and Providence mom, reflected, “One of my absolute favorite parts [of the Fair] is seeing so many of my students, past and present, outside the school day and having fun with them. Spending time with dear parents and with best friends is also such a joy!”
