Ready…Set…NET!

Team #13 was assigned to PA in September. (From left to right, top to bottom) Brian Smith, Clare Cruz, Cristian Aguinaga, Juliana Lane, Erin Claussen, Anthony Hollcraft, Annalysa Morales, and Simon Kwan.

The NET Team has arrived at PA for the 2019-2020 school year and, as usual, they bring all kinds of excitement with them. From praying and leading songs at adoration to spending time chatting with students, the Netters are truly a unique part of our community. Since they each come from a unique background, each member of the team brings something different to the table.

Erin Claussen- From Sioux Falls, SD, Erin joined NET because she enjoys working with youth. In high school, she was involved in soccer, volleyball, choir, theater, and playing the saxophone. Since arriving at Providence, she has been morst surprised by the rigorous curriculum.

Cristian Aguinaga– Cristian joins us from down south in Ennis, Texas. In high school, he was involved in cross country, track, soccer, football, ultimate frisbee, baseball, and tennis, as well as National Honor Society and band. Cristian looks forward to building relationships with students and participating in student activities.

Brian Smith- Brian comes to PA from Fort Wayne, Indiana. In high school, he participated in a variety of extracurriculars such as chess club, gymnastics, 4-H, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). He hopes to help students them grow in their faith. What he found most surprising about Providence was the sarcophagus that used to contain a mummy outside our chapel.

Simon Kwan- Simon from Belton, Texas also joins us with his many interests. Some of his favorite hobbies in high school were rock-climbing and playing piano. This is his third year with NET. “I’m looking forward to being faithful to daily ministry,” he commented when discussing his plans for this year.

Anthony Hollcraft- From Sacramento, California, Anthony participated in both track and cross country in high school. His hobbies included piano, guitar, and making music covers and mashups. He’s impressed with Providence as well and praised, “Providence has way better religion classes than I ever got”.

Clare Cruz- Clare’s from Mount Vernon, Washington. “It fulfills me to love other people,” she said when talking about why she joined the NET Team. While in high school, Clare enjoyed playing guitar. Her other interests included origami and cooking Mexican food. This year, she’s looking forward to getting to know people and forming friendships.

Juliana Lane- Juliana is another Texan from Richardson. Her interests in high school were swimming and playing guitar. Besides these, one of her other favorite things to do was rest in hammocks. “I want to be closer with students and grow in my faith life,” she said. Juliana’s very glad to be part of such a welcoming community here at Providence.

Annalysa Morales- From Denver, Colorado, Annalysa was a competitive cheerleader and tennis player in high school who was also involved in many school clubs and honor societies.  “I am looking forward to being a part of and getting to know the supportive, encouraging, and welcoming community of PA,” she reflected.

If you want to know the Netters better, go and visit them in the NET room, or even contact Mrs. McCullough in the religion department if your family might like to host part of the team for two weeks. This year is going to be full of great opportunities to grow in faith and relationships with these fun, energetic, faith-filled people.
